Nearly 1,000 Afghan refugee families return home in single day

KABUL, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Nearly 1,000 Afghan refugee families have returned to their homeland in a single day, highlighting the ongoing trend of repatriation amid evolving regional conditions, the official media Bakhtar news agency reported on Thursday.

According to the report, a total of 943 families crossed back into the country from neighboring Iran and Pakistan. The returnees entered Afghanistan through several key border crossings, including Islam Qala in western Herat Province, Torkham in eastern Nangarhar Province, and Spin Boldak in southern Kandahar Province

Despite these difficulties, many returning families express hope for rebuilding their lives in their homeland, even as Afghanistan faces ongoing economic and social challenges.
