PanARMENIAN.Net - Kazakhstan is interested in implementing the TRIPP initiative and Armenia's Crossroads of Peace project, Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev said during a meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

He stressed the importance of unblocking regional transport routes and reaffirmed Kazakhstan's support for both the TRIPP initiative and the Armenian government's Crossroads of Peace project.

Pashinyan welcomed the visit of Kazakhstan's foreign minister and emphasized the strategic nature of bilateral partnership. He noted that recent high-level reciprocal visits have given new momentum to the development of multifaceted Armenia-Kazakhstan cooperation, as reflected in the bilateral agenda. He added that ongoing regional developments are also positively influencing cooperation between Armenia and Kazakhstan, particularly as railway links established via Azerbaijan, Russia, and Georgia are providing new impetus for expanding trade and economic ties.

Kosherbayev conveyed warm greetings from Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the prime minister and noted that productive discussions had taken place with Armenian partners on all issues of mutual interest. He expressed confidence that the established railway connections would significantly expand bilateral trade and economic relations.

He reiterated that Kazakhstan is also interested in implementing the aforementioned projects and expanding regional trade and economic ties.

Pashinyan and Kosherbayev also discussed prospects for cooperation in infrastructure, construction, agriculture, technology, aviation, and tourism. In this context, the launch of direct flights between Armenia and Kazakhstan in the near future was highlighted as important.

The interlocutors also stressed the significance of an upcoming visit by an Armenian business delegation to Kazakhstan, which is expected to provide a further boost to economic cooperation and business ties.

Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstan is not negotiating to acquire the Russian concession for Armenia's railways, according to "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" and the country's transport ministry. Previously, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Armenia would not oppose such a deal if agreed by Russia, but the Russian side stated it has no intention of pursuing it.
