PanARMENIAN.Net - The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has adopted a resolution calling on Azerbaijan to release all Armenians it is currently detaining. The announcement was made by Ruben Rubinyan, Deputy Speaker of Armenia's National Assembly and head of the country's delegation to PACE, via his Facebook page.
According to Rubinyan, the resolution, titled "Progress of the Assembly's monitoring procedure," was passed in Strasbourg. In the section concerning Armenia, the Assembly voiced deep concern over "reports about plans by several members of the clergy to seize power." Meanwhile, in the part addressing Azerbaijan, PACE explicitly called for the release of all detained Armenians.
Ruben Rubinyan was elected Vice-President of PACE on January 26.
