BAKU, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Azerbaijani government has extended its special quarantine regime across the country until April 1, 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers said Friday.
Approved by the Cabinet of Ministers and signed by Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, the extension is intended to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the risk of possible complications.
The special quarantine regime had previously been set to expire on Jan. 1, 2026.
Although the regime remains in place, most COVID-related restrictions introduced during the pandemic have been lifted, while Azerbaijan's land borders remain closed to passenger traffic.
