WUYISHAN, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- The first Wuyishan international freight train departed from Wuyishan City in east China's Fujian for Central Asian countries on Thursday.
The train is transporting 42 containers filled with a range of products from fitness equipment to sewing machines, to countries including Kazakstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
The international freight train service will run regularly from March this year. It will allow domestic goods such as tea and bamboo products to directly reach Central Asia and Europe.
It will only take nine days for the train to arrive in Almaty, the largest city of Kazakstan. The whole journey will last 15 to 20 days.
